One blog I regularly follow is Life as an Artistpreneur. Sometimes I need a good pick-me-up as to why exactly I'm doing this, why I'm putting myself out there and doing things that are difficult and that I thought I'd never do in a million years. She posted something today that resonated with me.
I downsize all the time. Especially with stuff. But I really need to apply it to other areas of my life. We've already moved out of our house in order to sell it, and sign the lease on our new place tomorrow. We really need to downsize in more stuff and also in services and expenses. We've already cut cable a long time ago, because quite frankly Hulu is awesome AND cheap. We've also cut the amount of groceries we buy (that usually go to waste) in half if not by 2/3.
My plan is to check out our subscriptions and services and see exactly what I can cut and when, and what free alternatives there are. I want to start making my own laundry detergent. We also want to start getting rid of all the clutter! Moving is a perfect excuse to do this. I happen to know of an entire box of unused pans, dishes, and silverware that we will never use that is upstairs in a closet.
In other news, I am busy, busy, busy. Grad school has started back today and already I am feeling the pressure. I have some projects on the books to finish, also, and new projects to start. I have decided to employ iCal on a whole new level as my schedule becomes more and more complicated.
Speaking of work, I need to get to it right now. Keep an eye out for a few fantastic new Google virtual tours from me, as well as some other projects that have me up late at night. ;)
