Happy Little Clouds

I need practice! Expert photographer or not, any skill is truly 10,000+ hours of practice, never luck. In the words of the immortalized Bob Ross, "Talent is a pursued interest. In other words, anything that you're willing to practice, you can do."

The second half of my thesis involves environmental portraits, and I've decided that the Brenizer method is the way in which I will be photographing them. So, I've been practicing! Here's a photo I took a couple of weeks ago to practice. It wasn't great, so I've been hard at it, still. Some of my subjects don't want to be public, though, and I respect that.

Street kids in Capital Hill, Seattle.

Grad school started back on Thursday, so if you've responded to my open call, please respond to my emails to confirm times for photo sessions. I definitely need the practice, and I can't wait to get your stories in my monograph and out into the world. I look forward to hearing from and meeting you.
